Adair County Mugshots and Release Records
A booking photograph answers a narrow question: whether an image was associated with a booking or corrections record. A release record answers different questions, including when the custodian ended control, why it ended, and whether another agency received the person. The two records can be requested together, but they should never be treated as interchangeable evidence.
Adair County Regional Jail’s official site links a page described as “current inmates.” The live host was not available during research, so its exact fields, photo display, refresh timing, and post-release retention could not be verified. No official Adair released-person mugshot gallery was located. It would therefore be inaccurate to promise that a former booking photo remains on the jail site for any set period.
Where Adair County Released Mugshots Appear
The available channels differ in authority, coverage, and purpose. Begin with the agency that created or maintains the record. Use a second source to establish release.
| Channel | Photo status | How to access it |
|---|---|---|
| Adair current-inmate list | Unverified during the research capture | Check the official current list only for present display; do not assume former entries persist. |
| Jail records custodian | May maintain the original booking image | Request the booking photograph and release record as distinct existing records. |
| KOOL | Supports a “photos only” search filter | Use for a person within Kentucky DOC records, including some supervised or released people. |
| DOC open records | May produce an official inmate photograph | Submit a precise written request if the image is maintained and disclosable. |
| DOC Daily Releases | No photo in the inventoried columns | Use it to confirm a dated state release event, then locate the image elsewhere. |
| Local news or private pages | May carry an older agency image | Treat it as a lead only and return to official records for status and release proof. |
VINELink is valuable for a reported custody event, but Kentucky’s public descriptions do not establish it as an Adair mugshot archive. Likewise, no verified Adair jail mobile app or official social mugshot feed was found. A generic Kentucky sheriff app does not become an Adair source without county participation evidence.
Adair County Jail Photo Availability
The official indexed roster is at Adair County Regional Jail’s current-inmate page. Its captured view confirms the official current-roster source, but it should not be relabeled as a released-mugshot gallery.

If the person is absent, do not infer that the image was erased or that release occurred. The current page can change because of release, transfer, correction, or ordinary roster turnover. Call the jail and request the underlying booking and release records. Preserve the date of any screenshot because a live list is not static evidence.
Request an Adair County Booking Photo
Direct a narrow written request to the records custodian or jailer at Adair County Regional Jail, 204 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY 42728. The public phone for routing is 270-384-5701. No current local request form, published local copy fee, or records-specific hours were located, so confirm the accepted submission method and any charge before sending sensitive details.
- Identify the person by full name and an approximate booking date range.
- Add a booking number if it is already public and needed to distinguish the record.
- Ask for the existing booking photograph as a separate item.
- Also request the booking sheet and release record, including timestamps, release type, authority, and receiving agency when public.
- Ask for an electronic copy and segregable nonexempt portions if part of the record is withheld.
- Keep the request and response together so the image source and release evidence remain distinct.
Kentucky’s Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, governs access subject to exemptions. KRS 61.872 permits qualifying Kentucky residents to submit requests by hand delivery, mail, fax, or email to the official custodian. The agency need not create a custom explanation. Ask for named existing records, and if the jail is not the custodian, request the name and contact information of the office that holds them.
Avoid sending a Social Security number or extra private data. A date of birth may help distinguish two people, but the custodian should first explain a secure method. Production may be limited by expungement, sealing, juvenile confidentiality, privacy, security, or another lawful exception.
Kentucky DOC Photos for Adair Releases
KOOL applies only when the person is within Kentucky DOC records. Its search includes “Search Offenders with Photos Only,” as well as name, DOC number, PID number, supervision status, location, county of supervision, conviction information, and other filters. Remove an incarcerated-only limit when seeking a person who may now be on parole, probation, or discharged. Compare the DOC number, age, convictions, and location before treating the image as the correct person.
A KOOL image may be years older than the actual release. It identifies a DOC record but does not prove when or how custody ended. DOC Daily Releases can supply the separate event. The series includes DOC number, name, type of release, released-from facility, and highest felony class. Its inventoried files do not carry a photo field.
For an official copy, request the maintained DOC photograph through Kentucky DOC Open Records. Include the full name, date of birth or offender ID, and a mailing address. The request can separately seek the release or discharge record and custody-status history, which makes partial production clearer than asking for “everything.”
No Verified Adair County Mugshot App
No authoritative Adair-branded jail app, sheriff app, official release social account, or social mugshot archive was located in the July 2026 source sweep. That absence is carefully bounded. A new service could appear later, but generic statewide app availability does not establish that Adair County supplies data to it.
Adair’s documented digital layer is instead VINE polling of local booking computers every ten minutes. The county jail services page supports that local notification cadence and the two-building jail description.

Use VINE to check a reported release event, not to substitute for the original photo record. If a new county app is later found, confirm its publisher, exact Adair coverage, photo fields, release window, and retention before relying on it.
Old Adair Mugshots on Private Pages
Private booking-photo aggregators and local news stories may retain an image after a person leaves custody. They are secondary leads and may be stale, inaccurate, or disconnected from later court action. This page does not link to commercial mugshot publishers or data brokers. An arrest or lodging report establishes neither release nor the current legal status of the case.
Adair-area news outlets and Kentucky State Police releases sometimes reproduce agency photographs alongside arrest coverage. When such a story is relevant, trace the image to its agency source and move from the arrest report to the jail, VINE, court, or DOC record. A later photo caption cannot replace the dated release evidence.
The same caution applies when a private page survives after official material disappears. The court case may have been expunged, or the official current roster may simply have turned over. Persistence proves only that the copy remains online. It does not establish present official availability, continued custody, or a lawful basis for republication.
Adair County Mugshot Removal and KRS 61.8746
Kentucky’s KRS 61.8746 targets a specific commercial practice. It prohibits commercial publication or use of a booking or inmate photograph obtained from a public agency when removal requires payment or other consideration. The statute provides possible injunctive relief, costs, attorney fees, and escalating discretionary daily damages.
It is not a blanket Kentucky mugshot ban. It does not guarantee that every image will be furnished, require immediate deletion in every circumstance, or make photo removal and expungement the same procedure. Someone facing a payment demand should preserve the page, request, dates, and communications, then consult the statute and qualified counsel rather than purchase an unverified removal promise.
Expungement and Adair County Photo Access
Kentucky expungement can change whether a court or arrest record remains publicly available. The Adair court file may involve both District and Circuit case numbers because District Court handles misdemeanors and initial felony proceedings while Circuit Court handles indicted felonies. Trace each case before assuming an image belongs to a record that remains open.
Qualifying dismissals with prejudice and acquittals on or after July 15, 2020 generally undergo automatic expungement after thirty days, except traffic matters. Eligible Class D felony petitions generally require five years after sentence completion or successful completion of probation or parole, whichever occurs later. The Kentucky Court of Justice process uses a certification with its own timing and fee. Current official instructions should be checked because eligibility and charges can change.
An expungement can explain why a once-visible official record disappears. It does not itself prove the date of physical release, and an old private copy does not override the order. Do not use a remaining image to bypass sealed, expunged, confidential, or juvenile restrictions. For release verification, use the official record that remains lawfully available rather than treating the photo as evidence of custody status.
Verify Adair County Release Separately
After locating a photograph, confirm the custody event through the proper channel. For a county-only booking, ask the jail whether the booking ended in community release or transfer and request the public release date, time, type, and receiving agency. Read the latest court order for the legal authority. For a state prisoner, compare VINE, KOOL, DOC Daily Releases, and the formal DOC record.
A transfer alert or receiving-agency field means Adair custody ended, but it does not show freedom from all custody. A projected release date is also not an executed departure. Keeping the image and event in separate sentences is the simplest accuracy rule: the booking photograph documents the person’s earlier agency record; the release source documents when and how custody changed.
